Final Fantasy 4 DS

Added Nintendo DS's Final Fantasy IV and DS emulator

December 6, 2010

Final Fantasy IV DS group pictureNintendo DS iconI've added the Nintendo DS version of Final Fantasy IV to my Final Fantasy IV Downloads! It's such an awesome game and a worthy remake of the great classic; I highly recommend playing it. You're going to need a Nintendo DS emulator to play the game, so I added DeSmuME to my video game emulator page. Final Fantasy IV DS runs great on it! A tutorial for DeSmuME is coming soon.

Playstation 2

Added PCSX2 tutorial

October 23, 2010

Playstation 2 iconRecently I added PCSX2 for download in my video game emulators page (FantasyAnime's first Playstation 2 emulator!). To go with it, today I put up a tutorial for it in Video Game Emulation for Newbies.

Playstation 2

Playstation 2 emulator, Star Ocean/FF6 saves, & Lunch

October 19, 2010

  • Playstation 2 iconThe time has come for FantasyAnime to support Playstation 2 emulation! PCSX2 has been added to my emulators page. The tutorial is coming soon.
  • Star Ocean spriteAdded a complete set of game saves for Star Ocean.
  • Added a PERFECT set of game saves for Final Fantasy VI, in addition to the ones I've had already. Having options is always a good thing!
  • So I'm tired of dealing with torrent websites. Several months ago I decided to host my PSX RPG torrents MYSELF. Yep! And you're welcome to hotlink my torrents to hell, because I need seeders! Every week I check to see if the torrents are still healthy, and they indeed are.
  • Added some more games to RPG Lunch Break, which include:
    • To SNES added Mortal Kombat 1-3 and Super Mario All-Stars
    • To Nintendo added Battletoads and Ninja Gaiden 1-3

Portable RPG Updates, Translation Nation vids, CT cosplay

September 16, 2010

  • I expanded every RPG covered in Translation Nation by adding links to relevant videos on YouTube. To my suprise, most of them do have videos on YouTube! Now you can see these sexy Jap RPGs in action.
  • Final Fantasy for iPhoneHaha well, I kind of missed the Final Fantasy's released for PSP! I added some coverage on them. Better late than never! Added some info, and screen shots for Final Fantasy 1 and Final Fantasy 2.
  • Added some new Chrono Trigger cosplay photos of Lucca. It's very well done!
  • Vay for iPhoneI updated my "About" sections for Sega RPGs released on the iPhone. I talk a little about them and provide some screen shots. These games are Shining Force, Phantasy Star 2, and Vay.
  • Final Fantasy on cell phonesMy Final Fantasy history page gets a trio update of mobile RPGs! I included info on Final Fantasy 1 and 2 on the iPhone, and Final Fantasy 1 released on normal cell phones (a.k.a. "flip phones"). Now you don't have to jailbreak your iPhone to experience the RPG that started it all!

FantasyAnime has gone mobile!! And more movie updates

September 12, 2010

  • FantasyAnime is mobile compatible!ALL of my movie clips have been put on YouTube. Whether you're on an iPhone, iPad, Android, Blackberry, etc. - every smartphone has a YouTube application and clicking my YouTube links will immediately play the given movie clip at full screen. Try out some of them: Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy Tactics, Parasite Eve, Dungeons & Dragons, Shining Force - or you can just jump to any RPG shrine of your choosing and check out your favorite FantasyAnime movie clip on your mobile device.
  • 3GP video for mobile devicesOkay I lied, all my movies are on YouTube except for my full length anime movies (which YouTube would remove). Instead I am providing 3GP versions of them. Ever heard of 3GP? It's just a mobile friendly movie format. Clicking a link to a 3GP movie will automatically blow it up to full screen and play. So the full length anime movies I'm talking about are the Chrono Trigger anime, the Final Fantasy VII anime, and the Tales of Phantasia anime. I tested this format on iPhone, iPad and Android and they indeed work as I say it does. It didn't work on Blackberry, though.
  • Flash videoOh there's more. Since I went through the trouble of making 3GP movies for my full length anime, I thought now would be a good time to also provide a better quality Flash video version. So for the Chrono Trigger anime, the Final Fantasy VII anime, and the Tales of Phantasia anime I now offer high quality Flash video versions.
  • Flash Intro Movie buttonGiven that mobile devices don't support Flash (except for Android), I've been stripping away some of my Flash or moving them to optional pages. Like, I've made my Flash splash pages optional; you'll now see a "Flash Intro Movie" link on these pages: Secret of Mana, Ogre Battle MotBQ, Treasure of the Rudras, and Shining Force.
  • I've noticed that mobile browsers don't like frames or inline frames. I've been picking at random parts of my site to remove them somehow. I started with Classic CD RPGs by removing the navigation frame; instead I put its navigation as a footer.
  • Flash player with fullscreen featureAND THERE'S MORE! You know how I provided a weird way to view my Flash movies at full screen? No more! I am now doing it 'properly' like every other website by using a Flash player that has a full screen button. I've swapped EVERY Flash movie in my site with this player; here's a sample.
  • Lastly, I've updated my Video Game Emulators page with helpful information to guide those of you with an iPhone or Android phone into the right direction to obtain video game emulators for your phone.

My 3D Terranigma wallpaper

Those oh so sexy screen shots! And wallpaper guide

April 13, 2010

  • My new thing is making it so that my screen shots zoom in 200% right on the page with a cool animation effect. I've applied such a script to the following screen shots pages: Final Fantasy 6, Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3, Chrono Trigger, Romancing SaGa 3, SaGa Frontier, Revelations: The Demon Slayer/Last Bible 2, and Terranigma.
  • So if you checked out the screen shots page of my new Super Mario RPG shrine, you would see that I have set it up differently than what I usually do. It's like a hybrid of my old style and the dynamic gallery in my PSX shrines. I like it! And I'm getting good feedback. So I'm going to apply it to other screen shots pages. The first one that gets it is Final Fantasy VI! It's much better, eh? :)
  • Terranigma wallpaperI made another cool 3D wallpaper! This time it's that awesome-looking dimensional room from Terranigma! Find it here.
  • My default set of desktop wallpaper resolutions is 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x800, 1280x1024, 1600x1200 and 1920x1200. So what do you do if your resolution isn't part of that list? You're forced to pick the best size and stretch. No more! I made a tutorial showing you an easy way to resize images for your desktop! The link to this tutorial can be found in my index page under "Features". I'm still in the process of adding a link to it in every wallpaper section.
  • Upcoming stuff: I have two shrines in the works, my Tenchi Muyo anime shrine is going to get a hefty update, and I'm brainstorming a new look for the main page! Lots of exciting new stuff is on the way!!
Super Mario RPG shrine is here!

NEW SHRINE!! Super Mario RPG!

January 24, 2010

Super Mario RPG logoYep, NEW SHRINE!! I have added a shrine for Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars! Included in this shrine is 200 screen shots, a full set of game saves, 90 pictures of official art, RSN & SPC soundtracks, 6 desktop wallpapers, a full set of maps, secrets, a detailed characters page (with video!), movie clips, and more! Best of all, I added the recently released "Super Mario RPG Revolution" patch, which gives the game a massive improvement in multiple areas!

And if you'd like to know the process I went through to create the shrine, I've typed that up in my latest blog entry.

The great Snes9X has been updated!

January 14, 2010

One of the greatest SNES emulators ever made has been updated! Download it from my emulators page. This update has made Snes9X better than ZSNES! Yes, it's true. They added tons of screen renders, screen capture, AVI movie capture and netplay. They fixed various bugs. And the highlight of this update is that massive improvements have been made to increase the quality of emulation. I've re-worked my Snes9X tutorial to cover the new release and its new features.

Genesis VGM music is here!

Hello Gens/GS & Imgburn! Saga Frontier art! VGM music!

January 13, 2010

  • The time has come for me to say good-bye to Gens. There are several great emulators that have spawned from Gens, and I have added the best one: Gens/GS! It's basically the same thing, just better.
  • Genesis VGM music is here!To the music sections of Shining Force, Shining Force 2, Phantasy Star 2 and Phantasy Star 4 I have added VGM soundtracks! VGM is much better quality vs. GYM music (which I removed cuz GYM sucks).
  • It's embrassing for me to tell you this, but that free burning software Burnatonce that I was recommending to you guys to burn Sega CD, TurboGrafx16 and PSX games via their CUE sheet actually didn't work. I just assumed it would when I saw support for CUE sheets - when in fact Burnatonce only supported CUE sheets created by Burnatonce. Sooo, I removed Burnatonce and replaced it with much better free burning software: Imgburn. And I tested it and certify it as having full support for burning games via their CUE sheets! It's more user friendly as well.
  • SaGa Frontier cosplay photosI've revamped my SaGa Frontier art section and added 50 new (and large!) scans of official art. I also added 24 new cosplay photos.
  • Updated RPG Lunch Break's NES section. Added Metroid, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1-3, and Legend of Zelda 1+2.
