Chapter 2, Part 2 Sailor Mars

Lasa

Chapter 2, Part 2 Map Chapter 2-2 Map

Having arrived in Nepal, Sailor Mars is in a city called Lasa. The stone Mars has to return to Mamoru-san is around here somewhere. Mars abruptly feels a surge of evil energy and wonders where it came from. She searches for a nearby building, but can't find the cause. She then examines a nearby civilian, but he is not the cause either. Mars finally notices a temple in front of her and decides to go in and investigate.

Temple

You'll find a Luna-P right in front of you. Save if you want, then let's move on. Go left, up, right and you'll see 7 monk statues and 1 petrified statue. Ignore them and go up. Press X (A) to examine the red jewel.

Mars has a feeling that the evil surge of energy he felt moments ago is from this jewel. But why is such an evil thing in a holy temple like this? Mars will soon be ambushed by mysterious monks. Mars will try to convince them that she was only looking at the jewel and she tries to leave. But the monks won't let her go, thinking that she has come here to steal the “Gemetus Ruby”...

This is a very easy battle, so I'm not going to make a section about this. Use Mars' Burning Mandala to finish them all.

After the fight, Mars notices that the enemies she just defeated were Youmas. She wonders why there would be Youmas in this temple. Suddenly, more monk-like Youmas appear and manipulate Mars. Sailor Mars can't move her body! The Youmas see this as a perfect chance, so they attack a helpless Mars. Down on her knees, Mars is immobilized and has lost all hope. Just when all seems hopeless, a mysterious assassin appears out of nowhere and slays all the Youmas. He goes over to Mars and asks if she's ok. Mars takes a look at this stranger and finds out that he looks exactly like Jadeite! She asks who this stranger could be. The man introduces himself as Faregg and Sailor Mars introduces herself too. Faregg tells Mars that it's dangerous in this temple, so she should get out of here.

Now brought back to Faregg's home, Sailor Mars wakes up from bed. Faregg enters and tells Mars that she had collapsed, so she was brought over to his home for rest. Mars thanks him. Faregg has to go to the elder's house and tell Mars to rest some more. Mars still ponders about the resemblance Faregg has to Jadeite. When you get control of Mars, exit Faregg's house.

Yaga Village

Go right, then up and you'll see a big temple-like house. Enter it. Go left and you'll find the elder in the room.

Mars asks if he is the elder of Yaga village and she thanks him for her recovery. Faregg enters the room and asks Mars why she was inside that dangerous temple. Mars can't tell him her reasons, but she thanks him for his help. The elder asks why Mars came here. Mars answers that someone very important to him is very sick. For him to recover, a special stone called “Jaedite” is needed. The elder asks Faregg if he's ever heard of such a stone. Faregg says no, but he suggests that they should ask the High Priest at the Takra Kuhp Temple. Mars asks where this temple is and Faregg answers that it was the same temple she was at before. Mars is reluctant to go back there, but guess there's no choice. Mars tries to leave, but Faregg blocks her way. She asks what's wrong and Faregg answers that women can't go in there alone. Mars tries to reveal her role as a Sailor Senshi, but Faregg interrupts her, saying that he should go instead. Mars feels it is too dangerous for him to go alone and the enemies wouldn't think twice about killing him. Faregg comments on Mars' stubbornness and says it would be easier if she had listened to him. He asks if Mars knows what the “Daisoujou” looks like. Mars is clueless, so she asks Faregg if he could come along with her. Faregg again comments on Mars' stubbornness.

Exit the room and the house. Before heading out, I STRONGLY recommend that you buy Sailor Mars some much needed accessories because her stats are WAY too weak. If you get caught in a random battle when you exit the village, you will die. Simply put. Go left, down, left, and you will find the Item shop. Enter it. Purchase a Tiara. You should still have the P.Earring and Bracelet since we already purchased them from Sailor Mercury's scenario. If you have plenty of cash at your disposal, buy some Yaga soup too, since it recovers ALL HP. Now equip the 3 accessories on Mars. When you're done, exit the item shop.

Go up and exit the village.

Outside the village

Canyon The Canyon

Random battles will occur, so I suggest you build up some levels for Mars so that you have a better chance of surviving in her scenario. Get up to at least level 12 or more and you'll be fine. When you are done building levels, let's continue. You have probably noticed an intersection as soon as you left Yaga Village, right? One path goes left, and another path goes up. Go left and you will come to a big, open area. Now go down, then follow the path until you enter the next screen.

Lasa

Go left, up, left, and keep moving up until you find that temple again. Enter it.

Takra Kuhp Temple

We are back here again. Save at the Luna-P, then follow the path until you find those statues. You will notice that one of the statues is not identical to the other monk statues. Examine that non-identical statue by pressing X (A).

Faregg will say that the High Priest has been turned into stone. Mars wonders who could have done something like this. Faregg knows that if Mars had found Jadeite's Stone, there would be people that'd be annoyed. Mars replies that there is, but they don't know that she is here. Faregg tells Mars that if they notice her here, they will know. Mars wonders who would do something to the High Priest, who is not involved in this at all. Faregg takes a look at the petrified High Priest and says he didn't seem dead. Faregg notices Mars' face turning red, but she says it's nothing. She asks if the High Priest is safe here. Faregg abruptly comes up with an idea and says if they analyze the High Priest's thoughts, they'll know how to transform him back to normal. Faregg taps in to the High Priest's thoughts and the stoned priest vaguely says it's the Gemetus Ruby that petrified him. Mars now understands, as she felt an evil surge coming out of that ruby in the first place. So it must have been the Gemetus Ruby that turned the priest into stone. The ruby abruptly elevates and hovers on the High Priest's stoned state!

Boss: Daisoujou

Very easy if you have been reading my walkthrough so far. Just use Burning Mandala and it will finish this boss off.

Rewards after winning: 100 EXPs, Yen 300, App.Medic, Puzzle Piece

After the battle, Nergal will appear. Sailor Mars is the Senshi that she wants to kill. Mars asks why she does all these mean things. Nergal says that they were testing themselves, Nergal herself and her assassin. And now the test is over. Nergal appears right near Faregg and badly injures him. Faregg tells Mars not to worry about him and she should take care of Nergal. Nergal gives Faregg another blow, which puts him out of commission. Mars' two crows, Phobos and Deimos, appear to distract Nergal. Nergal makes the crows disappear, and she tells Mars that she'll be holding Faregg hostage. We have to go to Kritayuga if we want him back. Nergal disappears, taking Faregg along with her.

Mars feels bad for her kidnapped friends. Suddenly, the Gemetus Ruby starts to react, as it restores the High Priest back to his normal-self. The High Priest thanks Mars for saving him from all the evil thoughts. He tells her that if she needs anything, then she should ask. Well, we do need something, right? Mars asks where Kritayuga is. The High Priest answers that Kritayuga is the name of the ruins north of the village called Yaga. Although Yaga itself has also become ruins. The village of Kritayuga was in ancient times a place of worship for the god called Jadeite. Only that exact place is... but Mars quickly interrupts him. She asks how Yaga village has become ruins, since she was just there. The High Priest says Yaga Village has been in ruins for well over 50 years! Mars seems doubtful, and the Priest asks if she plans on going to Kritayuga. Mars replies that she must. The High Priest gives you the Daisoujou's Token, which will soon be needed.

With nothing else to do here, exit the temple. Make sure you save at the Luna-P on your way out.

Lasa

If you need to stock up on some items, visit the shop that is located to the southwest. If not, exit the town.

Outside the village

Canyon The Canyon

Now go back to Yaga Village (you should know which way to go, just don't go up yet when you come across that intersection).

Yaga Village/Ruins

Upon arrival, Mars will be astonished. With all the broken buildings and the emptiness, Yaga village IS in ruins! Mars wonders how come this place was abandoned and she realizes that what the High Priest said to her is becoming true.

Go right and enter the big temple-like house. Mars finds this place deserted. Suddenly, the elder's spirit appears right before her! He says that the village was only an illusion. Mars is extremely confused, but the elder says that Yaga village was resurrected for her. Mars asks if everyone in Yaga village was a ghost and the elder replies yes. Since Mars is a living human, the elder and his people thought she would react like this. Mars asks if Faregg was a ghost, too. The elder says that Faregg was slightly different from the villagers and himself. The elder's spirit vanishes after telling you to go to the northern cave. We find the road to our success there.

When you get control of Mars, open up the two chests to find some VERY useful accessories. You'll find a Ruby Bracelet and a Ruby Tiara. Equip them right away. If you want to do what I did, follow my advice. Unequip Tiara and equip RubyTiara. Next, unequip the P.Earring and equip RBracelet. Sailor Mars' stats are MUCH better now. When you're done, exit the house.

Now exit Yaga Ruins.

Outside the village

Now remember the intersection we found? Go up this time and follow the path until you come at an open area. Go right and you will find a Luna-P. Save now, then go left and enter the northern cave.

Northern Cave

Cave Cave

Go up and you will find Phobos.

Note: I suggest you gain some levels here, as the monsters give you good EXPs. Get up to at least level 16 or higher.

Keep moving up, then go right, until you find an intersection - up or right. Going right leads to a Luna-P. Go up and you'll have a choice about going either left or right. Go right and keep moving until you come across another intersection - up or down. Either route will do, but go up, since it is a shortcut. Follow the path until Sailor Mars crow, Phobos, sees a dead-end wall. The High Priest's token starts shining in reaction to the dead-end wall. You will be prompted by a Yes or No question on whether you want to use the High Priest's Token. If you want to beat this game, then say Yes (lol). The token opens up the dead-end wall, creating a road entrance. Enter it.

Go up until you enter the next screen.

Kritayuga

Kritayuga Kirtayuga

You will find a Luna-P here, so save now. Continue by moving up and you will see a statue of what appears to be Jaedite. Examine the statue by pressing X (A). Mars will find it difficult to believe that Jadeite was once a god in this ruined city. But then again, Faregg and Jaedite do look similar. Continue going up and you will see a very big temple. Enter it.

Kritayuga Temple

Go up the first stairway after entering. On the second floor, go left and climb up the next stairway. On the third floor, go right and climb up the next stairway. On the fourth floor, go left and climb up the next stairway. On the fifth floor, you will find a Luna-P as well as the next and final stairway. Save your game and proceed by going up the final stairway.

Nergal will appear and she is ready to fight you. Mars asks why she has to fight Nergal. She just wants Faregg back. Nergal lets Sailor Mars know about her motives, by showing her Jaedite's Hi Stone! Nergal proclaims that this stone shall only go to the winner. Sailor Mars agrees and will fight Nergal. The two Senshi take their places, ready for combat. Mars first asks if Faregg is ok, but Nergal will only tell her that when she loses!

Boss: Nergal

Very easy battle if you have been following my advice about Sailor Mars! Just use Mars' Fire Snake and it will defeat Nergal in one hit. Nergal has an attack called WhirlWindCut, which does very good damage to Sailor Mars. She also uses Illusion, which causes Selfishness. But still, she should pose no threat to you since you've been training Mars to level 16 or higher, right?

Rewards after winning: 300 EXPs, 900 Yen, MoonShard

After the battle, Nergal will be jealous of how powerful Sailor Mars is (damn straight!). But next time, she and the other Opposito Senshi will defeat the Sailor Senshi. A flashback scene of Nergal ensues. She hears Apsu's voice and Apsu offers Nergal strength that will rival the Sailor Senshi. She invites Nergal to join her evil campaign so that Nergal can have her revenge on defeating the Sailor Senshi. Nergal accepts Apsu's deal. The flashback scene ends.

Nergal, as to her word, hands over Jadeite's Hi Stone to Sailor Mars. Whee we finally have it! Nergal exclaims that Sailor Mars is her trophy and she should never forget it! Mars asks where Faregg is and Nergal answers that he is sleeping in the interior room. With that said, Nergal teleports off. Mars walks up a bit and finds her other crow, Deimos. She finally finds Faregg and approaches him. Mars earnestly begs Faregg to wake up. Eventually he does, and he wonders where he is. Faregg looks at Mars and comments on her eyes being red. Mars blurts out that she was worried sick about him. She is happy that he's still alive (or is he..?). Mars tries to hug him, but ends up going THROUGH him! Faregg tells Mars that his body is not real and the only thing left is his soul. Mars refuses to believe that as she says that she would have to be a ghost too, just to understand him. Mars refuses to believe that Faregg is a ghost.

Faregg explains that the people of the village of Yaga were there to protect the Takra Kuhp Temple. Over many centuries, all those people came to the village to pray. And that is why he came. Mars asks if that was the reason, but Faregg says no. It was his invitation. People from Kritayuga were many among those who protected the temple. Those people worshiped Jaedite-sama at the Takra Kuhp Temple. And those prayers (the statues) gave them their appearance. Mars asks if they made Faregg look like Jadeite. Faregg apologizes, since his memories are so painful. He should've told Mars earlier. Faregg departs to the afterlife, saying goodbye to Mars, and he disappears.

Mars starts crying, but Phobos and Deimos console her. Usagi sends a transmission to Mars, asking if she has found Jadeite's stone. Sailor Mars sorrowfully replies that she has. Noticing the strange sound of her voice, Usagi asks what's wrong. Sailor Mars says it's nothing and tells Usagi that she'll be coming back to Japan very soon. Usagi tries to say something, but Mars ends her communication with her. She tells Phobos and Deimos that it is time for all of them to go back home.

Sailor Mars takes one last look at the statue of Faregg and bids him farewell. Luna will prompt you to save the game. Save, and we are finally done Sailor Mars' scenario!
