TORRENT SITES
"Q: 'Torrent sites'? What are those?" You can download practically anything from a torrent website. Go here to learn more about it. The torrent program that most people seem to prefer is Azureus. Note that all these sites have pop-ups and are rather fishy. I would advise browsing them with Firefox, as Internet Explorer tends to be too susceptible to spyware and such.

Hardcore Gaming 101 - As the name implies, hardcore gaming has extensive reviews covering games of every genre and era. What's most interest about this site is that the majority of its review sections covers the entire game series.
NES Horsemen - The NES reviews in this place are quite humorous. They have other stuff too like movie reviews and MP3 downloads of arcade music.

SEGA LEGACY
Eidolon's Inn - This excellent website is the father of Sega fandom on the net - it's been around since 1997! The site has anything and everything about every Sega system! However, at the moment, most of their legendary sections are not up on the site. You see, Eidolon's Inn was forced to shut down some time ago. They've just recently come back online and now they're working on a massive remodeling. Bit by bit, what made Eidolon's Inn glorious will return.

Aeon Genesis Translation Proclamation - This is the domain of the almighty Gideon Zhi! He's one of the most active rom hackers in the translation scene.

Yunin No Translators - They're working on Arabian Knights!
Magic Destiny - This group has been around for a while. They're translating a nice collection of games.

Home of Classic Role Playing Games - Wolfgang's game sections are very detailed and full of eye candy. He covers everything Shining Force, everything Phantasy Star, everything Lunar, and other great RPGs.

VideoLAN - The best media player! It can play almost any audio and video format! Literally! If you like to download movies, VLC can play directly from DVD video files. It even has support for those obscure video plug-ins that many fansubbers use.
7-Zip - Open source file compression software, supporting popular formats like ZIP, RAR, ISO, TAR, and more. It's the 'core' program supporting the 7z format, which popular opinion says is the #1 file compression format.
GIMP - Open source image editor that is very similar to Adobe Photoshop.
Blender - Open source 3D modeling/3D animation software. I have helpful tutorial links in the 3D Resources category.
Nvu - Open source HTML editor/page builder that is similar to Adobe Dreamweaver.
Scribus - Open source desktop publisher that is similar to Adobe Indesign and MS Publisher.

Belief - An excellent site to go to for philosophy on imagination, creativity and originality. Well, you sort of need to dig into the site to find that particular section, because it's mainly a company site (ad agency).

Homestar Runner - Here you'll find tons of hilarious flash cartoons based off a fan-made cartoon series called Homestar Runner. There's also some spin-off cartoons Teen Girl Squad and Trogdor. The whole site was put together in flash, it's quite impressive. You should check it out if you haven't already.
